More Pictures

Today we were at the beach, again. The sun was out with no chance of fog. It seems like there were even more families enjoying the sun, sand and season. Bev thought it would be a good idea if I took a short video of what we were experiencing, so you might get a better idea of what it is like on the beach.  Have a look at the sidebar on the right under my Tweets for a short beach movie or have a look below.

The sky was clear all day today so I thought I would try to take a few sunset photos by the water. When we got back from the beach it was shortly after 5 P.M. the sun would soon set. I grabbed my camera and walked over to the south side of the RV park. I would be able to get a clear view of the mainland with a view of the bay. Here are some shots I was able to capture.

  1. Thanks for sharing the video. However, this morning it was minus 44 with the wind chill here, so it’s kind of cruel to see how warm it is where you are. lol. Seriously, it’s nice the fog has lifted. There are some tall buildings off to the upper left of the video. Is that a town/city close by? Port Isabel?

    • Well the fog wasn’t gone for long. We got up today with the sun, made a lunch for the beach and before we got into the truck the fog was back. Visibility was <200 yds. The computer says it's +17 but the thermometer on the RV says +23. We didn't stay long at the beach as we were getting damp from the fog. The tall buildings you speak of is a two tower hotel/condo called The Perl. It is located on the beach and is the same one engulfed in fog from my other pictures. Port Isabel is on the mainland, over the causeway. I am not sure what they call this area other than South Padre Island (SPI).

BTW it was 93 degrees yesterday in Mcallen. They broke a record from the early 1900's.

      Stay warm my friend 😉

We are anticipating another cold snap later in the week. It might not get out of the 50's, but at least I don't have to wear gloves and a toque.

    • Bev says the beach is fluffy enough. Actually the weather today is about 20 degrees c lower than it was yesterday. We got to about +7 today with a strong wind. It’s not very nice but we are supposed to be back into the 80’s by mid week.
